First night at home and we didn't get much sleep.

The advantages of natural birth - and the 2nd birth - means Amy and Ollee are home in under 24 hours.

No pain relief for both births. it was still painful but got her
relief by squeezing the crap out of Jules's fingers :p

ollee has arrived 3.23pm

he popped out with ease. he looks great. wide eyes open already
smiling very alert & watching me write this. has a dart hole in his chin
like his dad.

still very early labour. not the serious stuff yet.

4cm dialated. Amy will go for a walk. will probably stay at hospital.

things have started up again. amy's in a bit of pain. so we're off to
the hospital

Amy got a good night sleep & is still sleeping. no ollee yet.

Contractions are roughly every 6 minutes. They are starting to get a bit painful. We've contacted the hospital to let them know we might be coming in sometime soon. Too early yet.

I wonder if we will see out the night.

The Dr told us that the internal examination today could actually
stimulate labour.

well, since 8pm tonight Amy has been feeling a bit odd. some new
aches. possibly some consistent weak contractions every few minutes.

End date in sight

We're back from the hospital. Ollee is fine inside. It seems he's not
too big, similar to Lila.

Amy is dialated 2 to 3cm & cervix is thin. So it could happen any day now.

Anyhow Amy is booked in for 7am on friday to be induced. We could get
bumped until next monday if they are too full. Dr was optimistiche
would make his own appearance

So we are relieved to have an end date & know he's alright in there.

Tuesday morning update

A quiet night and no sign of Ollee breaking out. We await the appointment this afternoon and perhaps plan an induced due date.

Monday night update

Nothing happening still. Ollee is still quieter than normal. Perhaps room is tight now. Perhaps he's saving some energy for the big day. Amy is getting very bored wondering when he's going to make an appearance.

Is he out yet?

The Olleeman is still cooking in the oven.

He was due on 1 December 2009 and he's showing no signs of coming out, although he's been very quiet over the past 24 hours (same thing happened with Lila and she came out the next day).

We have an appointment at 2.30pm 8-12-2009 to see what happens next !

Of course this is just light hearted fun, but thanks for your various comments and opinions!

Amy of course says to me, "so we'll pick the name with the least votes". We don't want to have the most popular one, haha, and there's too many Oliver's appearing on the playgrounds (now that we are aware of them).

And of course, Amy was determined to get her way and her sole vote for 'Ollee' wins.

However, at least, I've since found out that 'Ollee' is celtic (I was trying to convince her to go for my made up Irish spelling "Oléigh"which was proving quite popular). So Ollee is a celtic word from the Isle of Man (ironic that!) and it means 'cattle'. And the kid will be year of the Ox. So Ollee it is !!!

What to call Lila's brother.

So we've nearly decided a name for our new boy popping out some time in December.

It had to be simple, not too common, compatible with chinese speakers, not too pretentious, meet the 'shout it in the playground' test, and of course something that goes well with Mann.

It's been hard getting Amy to agree with all my suggestions. She's harder to please than me!!!! She seems stuck on Ollie. There's a lot of Ollie Mann's out there. Possibly they are probably just shortened from Oliver Mann's. Heaps of them. So we have to be a bit different.

So I'm doing some user feedback of the spelling. But tell us what you think anyway.

I had other names too, you can vote on them as well.
